The Voice of the Future is Female is a comparative study based on SPEAK, the Young Women’s Vocal Empowerment curriculum, an applied theatre program implemented in Boulder, CO and Alexandria, Egypt. It offers an insight on the impact of applied theatre on youth engagement and the importance of young women’s voices and participation in sustainable development.
graduated with bachelors degrees in Arts Administration and Theatre from the University of Kentucky and is currently earning her Masters in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. A native of Alexandria, Egypt, Fahmy’s research focuses on the vocal empowerment of women through applied theatre to facilitate their active participation in sustainable development.
